Five-star superior hotel with custom-made Brunner furniture

Following renovation and expansion, and thanks to a design overhaul inside, the Öschberghof in Donaueschingen is now a five-star superior hotel.

The Öschberghof's management, under hotel manager Alexander Eisenbrey, decided back in 2012 to extensively refurbish and expand the hotel during normal operation. The grand reopening was in spring 2019 after around six years. The former four-star establishment in Donaueschingen has now become a five-star superior hotel under the supervision of architects' firm Allmann Sattler Wappner. The idyllic resort located in the Black Forest and surrounded by a golf course, now has an additional 73 rooms, bringing the total to 126, and the spa area has been doubled to 5,000 square metres. A new gourmet restaurant and expansion to include a 45-hole golf course with a driving range, academy and caddy hall were also part of the renovation works.

While outside the character of the Öschberghof has largely been preserved, interior designers from JOI-Design have given the design inside a complete facelift. With solid wood oak floorboards, pure wool and natural carpets in muted colours, they have taken elements from the ever-present wonderful surroundings, visible through the wide glass windows, and created a modern, stylish and harmonious look. Various pieces of Brunner furniture, some custom-made as an optional extra, support the design concept, whether in the library, the restaurant or the lounge. Combinations of colours and mixtures of materials like leather and fabric create exciting contrasts and break up the overall look.

The square stitching that sometimes adorns the inside, and sometimes the outside, of the fina club upholstered easy chair is particularly elegant. The restaurant is furnished with tone-on-tone fina club upholstered easy chairs, featuring a mix of leather and velour. Complete with special comfort upholstery, in addition to being outstandingly comfortable, they are also particularly durable thanks to the high-quality leather on the inside. Various Brunner ranges are also used in the lounges, the spa, the rooms and the 1,000-square-meter conference centre. From the crona upholstered easy chair with a two-tone cover and pivot standing tables to the first class stacking row chair with extra-thick upholstery and much more.
