Half-year result 2023: Brunner despite the economic situation.
The Baden-based designer contract furniture manufacturer Brunner has reported positive figures for the first half of 2023, with double-digit growth in turnover compared with the same period the previous year. This growth has come primarily from Germany, the company’s core market, as well as other European markets. Brunner is expecting to set a new record for turnover overall in 2023.
Successful projects around the world ensure job security across the board
“Demand for our 'made in Germany' furniture continues to be high globally,” says Managing Director Dr Marc Brunner, summing up the first six months of 2023. This success is down to international projects and prestigious customers, including the Barcelona Convention Centre, Apple, William Blair London and the Bildungscampus Heilbronn.
Founders and Managing Directors Helena and Rolf Brunner say: “We’re absolutely delighted with what we’ve managed to achieve as a company. We have to thank our customers, our specialist retail partners, the architects involved in our projects and our employees. As the world is facing challenging times, the scope of our product range filled with innovative solutions and functional furniture designed to make our customers’ lives easier has once again proven to be one of the keys to our success. We’re proud that we can deliver premium-quality solutions tailored to our customers' needs in the office, hotel and gastronomy, large spaces and events, and health and care sectors.”
Focusing on customers, launching new products, making wishes come true
The second generation of the family behind the Baden-based company is optimistic about a bright future in the short to medium term. Managing Director Philip Brunner believes the company has three key differentiating factors: “With more than 18 showrooms and 100 sales representatives all around the world, we’re close enough to our customers to be able to respond quickly to their specific requirements.
We’re also investing heavily in expanding our product portfolio, digitalising our processes and moving forward with sustainability. We’re particularly excited about introducing our customers to some more new products towards the end of the year.”
“But our biggest asset is still our highly trained and motivated employees, who are passionate about applying their skills to make every one of our customers’ wishes come true,” says Dr Marc Brunner. The long-term commitment of 157 loyal employees was celebrated at Brunner’s recent summer party.
The Brunner family even had the pleasure of thanking four employees for 40 years of loyal service – Monika Müller, Ralf Hetzel, Ralph Strobl and Manfred Brunner. 20 more colleagues were celebrating 30 or 35 years with the company, while another 13 were marking their 25th work anniversary.
“We’re very proud and happy that so many employees have stayed with us for their whole career. And we’re always on the lookout for new colleagues who want to join us to push boundaries and make the impossible possible,” says Rolf Brunner.
