Brunner at the Clerkenwell Design Week, 19–21 May
On the occasion of the Clerkenwell Design Week taking place on 19–21 May, Brunner is extending a cordial invitation to come to Rosebery Avenue 62–68. Here, in the spacious, 3‐level Brunner showroom with its ample surface area of 740 square metres located in the unique ambience of a former Victorian warehouse, are displayed new contract furniture pieces designed by jehs+laub and archirivolto, and much more. During the “Open Days”, visitors are welcome to get a first‐hand view of the new Brunner products and get comprehensive information about all the details they are interested in. “Everything looks fantastic – and we are really enthusiastic that we can now present our new products launched at Orgatec 2014 here in our showroom right in the heart of Clerkenwell”, says David Shirley, Brunner UK Managing Director. Among the presentation highlights are the modular lounge programme banc and the cantilever chair ray, both designed by Stuttgart‐based design studio jehs+laub.
Another focus is on the upholstery furniture series crona, designed by the Italian designers of archirivolto. In all their difference, they are exemplary for the unusually wide contract furniture spectrum offered by Brunner. The building, renovated with a fine eye for detail by McDowell+Benedetti Architects, has been housing Brunner UK’s headquarters since 2013. It provides a representative framework for Brunner’s high‐quality products. Visible steel girders and the characteristic brick walls let the industrial past still shine today. Another eye‐catcher: the large, dark steel staircase connecting all three floors, welding them together as it were. Facing Rosebery Avenue, eight big shop windows and a swivel door set a great stage for the Brunner contract furniture on display inside. Rosebery Avenue 62–68 is a real magnet for both architecture aficionados and design enthusiasts.
